WANT.

Okay, perhaps me wanting this really guady ring warrants some explanation (even if it IS purple.) Perhaps you do not remember this being one of Captain Jack Sparrow's rings in Pirates of the Caribbean, but I do! Mainly because I need counseling. I remember ALL of his rings, and their backstories (once again, I may need to seek counseling.) This one here, my favorite, was one he stole from Tia Dalma's little swamp hut, and it's design is actually based on one of Johnny's own rings, one that's thousands of years old! Neato, huh?

The things you can learn from DVD special features... anyway, he has a few others: the green skull ring (the "Signature" if you will... I do believe Johnny either kept it, or it was his to begin with), the dragon ring (which has something to do with Sao Feng and Singapore, but I don't care much cuz it's the ugliest one), and the button ring (which Captain Jack apparently stole from a Spanish widow whilst making a run for it...) that's gold with some darker flowery bits on it.

I have recently realized that I miss Captain Jack, what with having been spoiled rotten over the past few years with near-constant movie releases and tie-ins (Mc Donald's Happy Meal toys, anyone?) I still have a soft spot for the crazy brilliant old sot, and the prolonged absence (of both piratey goodness and Depp himself) has made me all nostalgic.  So, sometime in the next few weeks, I need to take a few hours for a viewing of Curse of the Black Pearl, accompanied by some awesome chocolate. Has to be quick though, it's almost Halloween Movie Time! :D Also, my recent addiction to online shopping should give my Pirates DVDs even more competition for my attention. (Did order Princess Mononoke, too, by the way.)

"MAAARSHMALLOOOOWS..."

I watched the Bones premiere, and there was a lot of awesome. Ian was really cool...until he died. Booth remains hilarious, but was especially so in his England hatred: "I'm GLAD we had a revolution!" Bones was being her usual Coolest Lady Ever self, with the usual nerdy gobbledygook dialogue thrown in for good measure. Using London as the setting was great! That's such a beautiful city, and I can't wait to go someday! The reaction to Angela's ex-husband was priceless, especially from Sweets (side note: Sweets is 100% my favorite supporting character.) Is it weird that I don't miss Zack? But neither does anyone else, from the looks of it. The mystery in the second half was far more interesting than that in the first... But I am supremely ticked that Angela and Hodgins broke up. WHY? They weren't even fighting! "You don't trust me?" "I guess not... I dunno." "I guess we should, like, just not be boyfriend-girlfriend anymore, even though we're pretty much soul mates." "I guess.. 'S been real." "Later." WHAT?!?! Stupid pointless drama.

Couple other orders of business: Yes, I changed the name of the blog. Musings of the Obnoxious made me sound like an obnoxious twit, obvoiusly, but not in a sarcastic way... Plus, it was just a horrible placeholder name that was meant to suffice only until I thought of another. I made it Alisa in Wonderland to conform with every other Alisa on the face of the earth, who also have blogs called Alisa in Wonderland. As a group, we're somewhat uncreative.

Also, I knew I wanted some sort of Snape icon to indicate my PotterJoy, and while I feel that the one I'm using now is the best, I found a couple others that gave me a teeny giggle:

In the end, I picked the one I have for two reasons: Sirius and "Snivellus"

And I'm not sure of what to think about them making a new Spider-Man movie, especially since the third one was so... not as good as the first two. And also since I've heard Kirsten Dunst may not come back... I'm not sure they're, ahem, aware of this, but Mary Jane's kind of an important character...
